When President Obama was elected in 2008, he was elected because people were tired of the same old Republican politics which got us into a second Great Depression and into two wars. During President Obama's first two years he accomplished many things, but most not to noticeable for national news. He payed for this during the midterms where the Republicans took over the house and gained seats in the senate. Right after the midterms President Obama signed in many progressive bills which spiked his approval rating above 50% showing that Americans want a Progressive U.S. Republicans ran on the slogan of "jobs jobs jobs" But of course not 1 jobs bill has been through congress, only bills attacking women and their rights. Now once again, just like the 8 years of Republican fail, Americans are turning against them.
Gov. Rick Scott
- April - 48% approval
- May - 29% approval
Gov. Chris Christie
- April - 47% approval
- May - 40% approval
Gov. Jon Kasich
President Barack Obama
(Quinnipiac, Fox, CNN)
And the list goes on and on with disapproval for more Republican Governors and House and Senate Republicans sliding as the days go on. This same trend happened in 2008 when President Obama was elected and the Democrats took control of the Senate and House (or saved control). This same trend will keep happening until Republicans realize that Democratic politicians are for the 98%, not the Republican politicians.
We can only hope and pray this trend continues. Great blog!
